  • Application Period: December 2, 2024 – January 22, 2025 (until 16:00)
  • English Proficiency Exam: The exam will be held on January 27-28, 2025. (For candidates applying to Master’s programs with an English language of instruction and who do not meet the foreign language requirement). For detailed information, please click here. (The foreign language exam will be held face-to-face for Turkish candidates and remotely for foreign candidates.)
  • Science Exam and Interview: On January 31, 2025, written exams will start at 10:00, and oral exams will begin at 13:30. For the location details of the written and oral exams, please click here. (The Science Exam and Interview will be held face-to-face for Turkish candidates and remotely for foreign candidates.)The Science Exam and Interview are applicable only to Master’s and Doctoral programs that require written and/or oral exams (For more information, click the “Admission Criteria” tab.)
  • Final Registration:  February 10-11, 2025
  • The ALES requirement is not required for non-thesis programs.
  • For Turkish (thesis and non-thesis) Master’s programs (except for the Thesis Political Science program), there is no foreign language requirement.
  • For English-language Master’s (thesis and non-thesis) and Doctoral programs, a foreign language requirement is applied. Applicants must have a valid score from one of the following exams: YDS or equivalent (YÖKDİL, KPDS, ÜDS, TOEFL-IBT, CAE, CPE, PEARSON PTE Academic).
  • For applications to Master’s programs and foreign candidates applying to Doctoral programs, the university’s English Proficiency Exam is also valid.
  • Graduates of the university’s English-medium Bachelor’s programs are exempt from the English requirement for Master’s program applications.
  • For Doctoral applications, in accordance with the Higher Education Council’s (YÖK) regulations, foreign language exams equivalent to those accepted by YÖK are valid. Language exams conducted by universities are not valid. (For equivalencies, click the “Exam Equivalencies” tab.)

XVI. Applicants must have a GPA of at least 2.80 out of 4.0 or an equivalent for Bachelor’s degree holders. Applicants should select either “Social/Organizational Psychology” or “Cognitive Psychology” as their option.

XVIII. Graduates of Law Bachelor’s and thesis Master’s programs in Law (Minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 or 70 out of 100)
XIX. A thesis Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Philology, Translation Studies, or English Language Teaching. A minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 (or the equivalent in the 100-point system) is required
XX. Graduates of Bachelor’s programs in Architecture, Interior Architecture, City and Regional Planning, Landscape Architecture, Industrial Product Design, and a thesis Master’s degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, or City and Regional Planning.

  • ALES exam results document. ALES results are valid for 5 years, and those from December 02, 2019, and later are accepted.
  • Foreign language proficiency document. Not required for Turkish Master’s programs (except Thesis Political Science). The document is valid for a maximum of 5 years, and those from July 16, 2019, and later are accepted. There is no time restriction for Turkish Doctoral programs.
  • Application fee of 170 $ , deposited into Vakıfbank Meşrutiyet Branch, account number TR 2800 0150 0158 0072 6042 9262 (bank receipt; ATM receipts are not accepted).
  • CV (For applicants to Doctoral programs)
  • Two reference letters and a statement of purpose (The reference letters will be generated by the system during the preliminary application; the applicant is expected to provide necessary information).
  • For applicants to the Interior Architecture Master’s Program: Two reference letters, a statement of purpose, and optionally, a portfolio.
  • For applicants to the Interior Architecture Design Doctoral Program: A copy of the Master’s thesis and optionally, a portfolio.
  • For applicants to the Psychology Master’s Program: CV, statement of purpose, and two reference letters.
  • For applicants to the Thesis Political Science Master’s Program: A statement of purpose.

 

  • Thesis Master’s Programs:
    For both Turkish and international candidates, those who score 40 or more from the exam with the higher weight (written or oral) and a total entrance success score of 50 or more will be considered successful. Successful candidates will be ranked in descending order of their entrance success scores and admitted to the program based on the available quota as either primary or alternate candidates.

 

  • Non-Thesis Master’s Programs:
    For both Turkish and international candidates, those who score 50 or more on the entrance success score will be considered successful. Successful candidates will be ranked in descending order of their entrance success scores and admitted to the program based on the available quota as either primary or alternate candidates.

 

  • Doctoral Programs:
    For both Turkish and international candidates, those who score 50 or more from each written and oral exam, and a total entrance success score of 60 or more, will be considered successful. Successful candidates will be ranked in descending order of their entrance success scores and admitted to the program based on the available quota as either primary or alternate candidates.
