Candidates applying to Master’s programs in English and foreign applicants for Ph.D. programs without a satisfactory English score can take this exam.

The Science Exam and Interview are applicable only to Master’s and Ph.D. programs that require written and/or oral exams. For more information, click the “Admission Criteria” tab.
There is no science exam and no interview for non-thesis master’s programs.
Final Registration: February 10-11, 2025
ALES is not required for non-thesis master’s programs for Turkish applicants.
ALES or equivalent GRE/GMAT is not required for Master’s programs with and without thesis and for Ph.D. programs for foreign applicants.
Foreign language is not required for Master’s programs in Turkish (except for Master’s with thesis in Political Science) but it is a prerequisite for Master’s programs in English and Ph.D. programs.
Minimum scores for English are in terms of YDS. Equivalent scores from following exams are also acceptable: YÖKDİL, TOEFL, UDS, TOEFL IBT, CAE, CPE, and PEARSON PTE Academic. Equivalence table for these exams is available at OSYM website. Home Edition exams are not accepted.
The English proficiency exam held by Çankaya University is also accepted for Master’s programs by all applicants and for Ph.D. programs by foreign applicants. Çankaya graduates from undergraduate programs in English are exempt from English requirement for Master’s programs.
For Ph.D. applications, in accordance with the Higher Education Council’s (YÖK) regulations, foreign language exams equivalent to those accepted by YÖK are valid. Language exams conducted by universities are not valid. (For equivalencies, click the “Exam Equivalencies” tab.)
Applications for Distance Education Program “Marketing and Brand Management” are considered only for Fall Semester.

XIX. A thesis Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Philology, Translation Studies, or English Language Teaching. A minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 (or the equivalent in the 100-point system) is required
XX. Graduates of Bachelor’s programs in Architecture, Interior Architecture, City and Regional Planning, Landscape Architecture, Industrial Product Design, and a thesis Master’s degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, or City and Regional Planning.
EVALUATION CRIATERIA OF GRADUATE APPLICATIONS
Thesis Master’s Programs: Applications by Turkish applicants will be assessed based on ALES or equivalent exam, undergraduate GPA and written exam and/or oral exam.
Applications by foreign applicants, for whom ALES or equivalent exam is not required, assessment is made based on undergraduate GPA, written exam and/or oral exam.
Non-thesis Master’s Programs: Applications by both Turkish and foreign applicants will be assessed based on only undergraduate GPA.
Ph.D. Programs: Applications by Turkish will be assessed based on ALES or equivalent exam, master’s GPA, written exam and/or oral exam.
Applications by foreign applicants, for whom ALES or equivalent exam is not required, assessment is made based on master’s GPA, written exam and/or oral exam.
ADMISSION INTO GRADUATE PROGRAMS
Thesis Master’s Programs: Those Turkish and foreign applicants with 50 or higher assessment score and 40 or higher score from written or oral exam with a higher weight in evaluation will be considered as successful and be admitted into the applied program. Successful candidates will be ranked based on assessment score and placed in programs according to available quota.
Non-thesis Master’s Programs: Those Turkish and foreign applicants with 50 or higher assessment score will be considered as successful and be admitted into the applied program. Successful candidates will be ranked based on assessment score and placed in programs according to available quota.
Ph.D. Programs: Those Turkish and foreign applicants with 60 or higher assessment score and 50 or higher score from each of written or oral exams will be considered as successful and be admitted into the applied program. Successful candidates will be ranked based on assessment score and placed in programs according to available quota.
